Not being able to walk around freely is something that can make life very difficult for some individuals. There are a lot of things in life that require walking and not being able to walk for extended periods of time is something that can negatively effect peoples lives. This is the reason that many individuals who are mobility challenged use electric scooters.
An electric scooter is a mobility aid that carries a single rider over indoor and outdoor areas. These scooters use either 3 or 4 wheels. The ones with 3 wheels tend to be better for use indoors, because they can turn in very tight quarters. The 4 wheeled scooters can not turn in as tight of a circle, but they are more stable, which makes them a better choice for outdoor usage.
These scooters plug directly into the wall to charge and then are powered off of an on-board battery. The range varies, but most full sized scooters can travel at least ten miles on a charge. Travel scooters, which are designed to be light weight and taken apart easily, usually have a reduced range and fewer features, but can be quickly placed in the trunk of a car or even in the back seat.
Those that are not able to easily get around, find that these scooters make a big difference in their daily life. Using and controlling them is simple and often can be done with very little hand control.
