People find that are over sixty often have difficulty walking around. Factors, such as arthritis are often things that can make getting around much more difficult. Not being able to safely or easily get around, can mean there are likely many events that you can not goto. Be it shopping or going to the park with the grandkids, if you have difficulty walking, there are a lot of things that can be out of reach. This is one of the reasons that mobility scooters are very popular.

Mobility scooters are a type of personal vehicle that is designed to carry a person indoors and outdoors. They are controlled by a set of handlebars, which are mounted on the front of the scooter and have 3 or 4 wheels.

If the scooter has 3 wheels, it will be much more maneuverable than a 4 wheeled scooter. They have a smaller turning radius, so if you need something for use around the home, a 3 wheeled scooter might be a better choice. However, 4 wheeled scooters offer superior stability and weight capacity. This makes them a better choice for outdoor use. Most heavy duty scooters, which are designed to be driven pretty much anywhere, use 4 wheels.

The range of a scooter varies, by model. It can vary between 5 and 40 miles. Most, however, have a range of around 12 miles per charge. This can be affected by the way and places you drive it. For instance driving up a steep hill will reduce the battery life.

Using a mobility scooter is a great way to increase mobility and allow independent movement in most areas. They are generally easy to control and greatly improve the life style of many individuals.
